Can You Die From a Broken Heart?

How many times have you heard the expression, “He/she died from a broken heart.”?

It is true. You can literally die from a broken heart. So, let’s talk about how to heal grief.

The first thing most of us think about when we hear the word grief is losing a loved one. But grief comes in many other ways too. Many people experience profound grief over the loss of their beloved and loyal pets. But there’s more. We can grieve all types of losses. We can grieve the loss of our health, a job we loved, a marriage, etc… And in the past two years, many of us have been grieving the loss of the world we once knew and the separation from family and friends.

I’m reminded of the 2017 Santa Rosa, CA fires and the grief I felt when I learned that my oldest brother had lost his home and everything in it. Absolutely everything – nothing was left, nothing but ash and metal melted from the extreme heat. My heart wept for him and the others who suffered through the fires of hell that destroyed their town and their lives. How does one recover from such insurmountable loss? Why doesn’t anyone teach us how to cope in times like this?

Why is grief such a concern to me? Because I see people suffering from it for extended periods, which is harmful to their health. It’s important to understand the toll grief will take if left unmanaged.

Grief is a very low-lying energy. If you have worked with me, you know that when we’re in the lower energy levels, we are depleting our immune system and making ourselves vulnerable to chronic health conditions. Some of these conditions can become terminal. So, make no mistake. A person can die from a broken heart.

It is always my goal to reach people before they become chronically ill.

I see people grieving all the time for different reasons, many of them for far too long! Despite my own experiences with loss, one loss that I’ve never been able to imagine is that of a child. That is why I asked my good friend, Debra Oakland, to record this video with me.

Debra shares how she overcame the loss of both her unborn daughter and her adult son. She also experienced the loss of three other family members – a total of five dearly loved ones in five short years. Debora shares with us how she coped. I invite you to listen to the interview now on YouTube.

I would be honored to hear your feedback on this video and maybe share what you’ve been grieving. The past two years have been hard on all of us.

What would it feel like to finally release the grief that keeps you stuck? For many clients, one session is all it takes!

Look in the video description for the links to connect with Debra and to order her book, Change Your Movie, Change Your Life: 7 Reel Concepts For Courageous Change.

It’s time to reclaim your power and heal your heart.
